Day 12

Day 12

January 25th, 2013

Let’s continue to build our foundation for our authority to rule and reign in our personal world; for the Word of God is inexhaustible for truth and life. That foundation is to know that we use our authority to keep and protect what is already ours in Christ. In over 20 years of ministry, I have seen too often, believers trying to “get things” that are already ours in Christ. There is noth ing more the devil would like to do than to get us to keep trying to “get things” that Christ has already obtained for us and has given to us. The devil wants us to be like a dog who is trying to catch his tail, and will keep going around and around in circles to try to get it. If the dog would only stop and take a good look, it will see the tail is already his, and can quit trying to get what he already has!

The thought of using our authority to keep and protect what is already ours is first understood in this way. In our battle against darkness, it has never been about power, but about authority. You see, God is, was, and will always be All-Powerful, amen. When Satan did try to take over in heaven, God just swatted him out of there, as easy as you and I would a fly (even easier), and in a flash Satan was gone (Luke 10:18). Understand, also, that Satan did not gain any power at the fall of man, or at the cross of Christ. That could not happen. However, he did go after the one thing he thought could defeat God (obviously it wasn’t going to be power), he went after and gained the authority Adam had to govern the earth. This is why Satan is referred to by Paul as “…the god of this world “(2Cor 4:4). It is also why Satan told Jesus in Luke 4: 6 "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish,” because Adam was the one who handed it all over to Satan. But, hallelujah, Jesus took it all back for us. “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves” (Colossians 1:13). Meaning authority to reign in life was restored to us (see Romans 5 or our earlier study days if you are just joining in).

So now that this has all been restored, Satan must only be seen as someone who is, what Jesus called him, a thief; but like a thief, he has no right or authority to steal, kill, and destroy, but will if not stopped! Beloved, he will try to:
• Take health from us…but healing and health, by Jesus’ strips, belongs to us already!
• Steal finances from us…but the Lord is our Shepard, we shall not want, already!
• Confuse our thinking…but Jesus is our wisdom, already!
• Bring guilt and condemnation on us…but there is no condemnation in Christ, already!
• Talk us out of being in Christ…but were are in Jesus, already! • Make us think we lose the battle…but we are more than conquerors in Jesus, already!

But, Satan has been stopped, already by Jesus. Jesus is the Conqueror, and being in Him makes us more than conquerors! Glory to God! Beloved realize it is the devil who will try to take away what Jesus has already won and given to us. So, stand in your Jesus, in your authority to enforce the battle already won, and keep and protect what Jesus gave you, knowing the devil does not have the right to take what is yours!
