William Harmon Swintz, Jr., 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Virginia Holly Swintz, entered into eternal rest Monday, June 3, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
William was born May 13, 1922 in Marion County, South Carolina, son of William Harmon Swintz, Sr. and Edith Rebecca Thompson Swintz.. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a retired Civil Service Engineer with Southern Division of Naval Facilities. William was an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and was a Boy Scout Leader and Little League Baseball Coach.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Swintz of Charleston; daughter, Pamela S. (Edward) Freeman of Taylors, SC; son, William H. (Monica) Swintz, III of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
